Over the years Akar has realized the importance of automation in operation of Water Treatment Plants and Waste Water Treatment Plants. As labour costs increase and the need for precise and negligence free operation of the Water Treatment Plants and Waste Water Treatment Plants is felt more and more; the additional costs of automation gets compensated.

Akar has supplied PLC based data managed, monitored and controlled automation based Water Treatment Plants and Waste Water Treatment Plants. Although number of such plants is as yet limited due to higher cost, there is growing demand for automation in the recent times. Recently we supplied Waste Water Treatment Plants to Paro international Airport, Bhutan. The plant has been successfully in operation for the past three years as in June 2016.

Usually manual based water and Waste Water Treatment Plants do have automatic level control switches and some basic semi automatic features. However, PLC based automation can be applied not only to operate various functions such as back wash, level control, change over from working equipment to standby etc. but also to monitor and record performance of the plant and various equipment based. Automation level can be set based on customer’s choice.

Automation not only reduces dependence on human intervention, it could reduce energy and raw material consumption as we could set levels of aeration of each Sewage Treatment Plant or dosage of chemicals required in Industrial Wastewater Treatment Plants. A client may monitor if the treatment is giving desired outputs in real time. Thanks to modern development of internet, he can have this information sitting at home or in the office on his desk.

At Akar we expect that as the time progresses, more and more customers would be prepared to invest in automation as regulations tighten and labor costs increase.
